Description: Latentheat of vaporization in seven canola cultivars (Candle, Global, Guile, Hektor, Tobin, Tower and Westar) was calculated based on the Clausius-Clapeyron equa tion. Differences in the magnitude of latent heat were observed among the cultivars at moisture contents below 8% db (dry basis). The cultivars were ranked according to ascending values of latent heat (below 6.5% db moisture content): Guile, Hektor, Tower, To bin, Candle, Global and Westar. The latent heat of canola (Brassica napus L., cv. Westar)decreased considerably with increasing num ber of drying-rewetting cycles at moisturecontentsbelow 8%db.
