Description: In testing agricultural machinery, power measurement using SR-4 strain gages is simply the application of a transducer to measure a force or a torque. Knowing the appropriate speed, these variables may be readily converted to horsepower. Where considerable testing is to be done, however, an electronic integrator as described by Avery and Yoerger (2) would be desirable. In torque measurement for example, the integrator output is in terms of horsepower, the product of the average torque and average rpm for that test.
