Description: Digestate management is a major bottleneck to the existing anaerobic digestion plants operated in cold environment since restrictions have been imposed on its agricultural application owing to the nutrient surplus and low market acceptance. This calls for the implementation of life cycle assessment (LCA) studies which helps in the quantification of environmental impacts and subsequently evaluate the environmental performance of concerned process/system.
