Description: With meat consumption increases in Korea, livestock industry has been concentrated in large scale. And closed livestock building have been widely used for controlling internal thermal environment effectively. In the closed livestock house, the concentration of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and fine dust inside the facility increases resulting in chronic effects on the worker's respiratory system. In addition, acute disease and suffocation can be occurred in places where high concentrations of gas are generated, such as manure storage. Preliminary alarm and warning system needs to be constructed for the safety and welfare of workers, and real-time monitoring system for working environment is required. For agricultural facilities, most real-time monitoring device is fixed. Fixed gas and fine dust monitoring systems can be easily broken due to harmful environment inside pig house. And it is difficult to monitor the working environment considering the working movement and types. This study aims to develop a wearable based working environment monitoring system to solve the difficulties of fixed monitoring system. Thermal and the working environment monitoring was conducted in consideration of working line and types. As a result of environmental monitoring in the livestock house, consideration should be given to high temperature and humidity environments. The range of monitoring for ammonia and hydrogen sulfide was supplemented with reference to previous studies. Wearable based working environment monitoring system was manufactured by consideration of the monitoring range. The wearable monitoring system can be used to obtain basic data for improving working environment by making algorithm for smart-livestock house.
