Description: Due to the aging population and labor shortage in rural China, China's food security is facing great challenges. The application of agricultural robots can greatly alleviate this problem. Agricultural robot is composed of a mobile platform and several working tools. An intelligent, stable and reliable mobile platform is the guarantee for the efficient operation of agricultural robots. In this paper, an intelligent mobile chassis suitable for paddy field is proposed and developed. The chassis is equipped with a global navigation system and a visual navigation system. Based on the global navigation satellite system (GNSS), the chassis integrates visual navigation, which can accurately identify crop lines and extract navigation lines, so as to achieve accurate alignment of crop lines. It is especially suitable for field management. At the same time, based on the soil dynamics model, the soil mechanical properties at different growth periods of rice were studied to examine the walking mechanism of vehicles. A more accurate calculation formula of traction force, driving torque and steering torque is proposed to optimize the operation parameters and navigation accuracy of mobile chassis and improve the endurance and operation quality.
