Description: Mangoes, citrus, guava, apples, and peaches are most famous orchard trees in Pakistan. Pakistan?s exports many fruit and vegetables to different countries around the world and the demand of increased production is rising due to the population growth. Adoption of proper management techniques such as fertilization and spraying are essential to meet the production targets and improve the fruit quality. Therefore, the objective of this research was to develop spot specific smart sprayer to apply agrochemicals on various citrus according to plant distance and height. A smart spot specific sprayer was developed using automated ultrasonic based sensing system mounted on an indigenous sprayer. The sensors were placed on a boom at a distance of 1 meter from the sprayer boom. The sensor was integrated on the customized PCB board. The 40 bar pressure solenoid valves were installed to operate nozzles on the sprayer. A customized program was written in python. Spot specific mechanism provides an improved adjustment of agro-chemical dosage to the trees by applying pesticides spraying to only those areas where trees are detected on the basis of their heights. Preliminary results showed that spot specific based spraying provides better performance as less amount of agro-chemical is used for area of 100 acre as compared with traditional spraying for citrus orchard.
