Description: Hydraulic conductivity data from the auger-hole technique are useful for drain age design (Bouwer and Jackson 1974 Shady et al. 1977). Shady et al. (1977) have indicated that a perforated liner or screened casing is required in unstable soils to prevent cave-ins of the auger hole.
