Description: Simulations and experiments to investigate the combination drying of wheat are described. The throughput of the heated-air dryer increased from 2.77 t/h to 3.84 t/h as a result of by-passing the cooling cycle. The combination drying also improved energy efficiency of the heated-air dryer from 10 to 20% depending upon the initial and transfer moisture contents. The opti mum transfer moisture content for wheat was determined to be 16-17%.
