Description: This paper will deal only with the technical aspects of the testing of farm machinery, with an introduction to the complex problems associated with the scientific measurements of various phenomena, as experienced by the Testing Branch of the Saskatchewan Agricultural Machinery Administration. The most difficult and vexing problem that the Agricultural Machinery Administration is faced with in farm machinery testing is the development of a suitable test technique for the lair and adequate evaluation of the performance characteristics of a farm machine.
